My name is Anthony Speranza and I am an educator at St. Mark’s Primary School in Dingley, Victoria, Australia. Our 2015 class blog is www.stmarks56.global2.vic.edu.au.

I am also an educational consultant, speaker, and trainer.

I will use this blog to discuss issues around innovative practice, teaching and learning, and technology integration. Why is this blog called ReconfigurEd? Read about it here.

A little bit more about myself:

Teaching history: 2015 is my ninth year of teaching.

Teaching position: Currently I am the ICT Teaching & Learning Leader at St. Mark’s. I lead the school in using ICT purposefully with a sound pedagogical approach. I work with teachers and students in our open plan learning areas.

Programs I have instigated: In my time at St. Mark’s I have been involved in many technological programs that have been introduced to students. These have ranged from digital story telling, movie making, to animation. Two major projects that I have been involved in include our Kidsnews program (a live 10 minute newscast produced by students) and our 1:1 laptop program in our Senior years. More recently, our school has implemented Google Apps for Education and Chromebooks.

Conferences: I have enjoyed presenting at a few conferences over the recent years including GAFE Summits, the ICTEV, ACCE and ISTE. I have also enjoyed giving guest lectures at Australian Catholic University each year.

Achievements: I have written for Educational Technologies Solutions magazine, the ICTEV Journal publication, the Australian Educational Leader and Education Matters Magazine. In 2014 I was awarded the ICT Educator of the year from Digital Learning & Teaching Victoria.

Professional Development: I enjoy coaching in ICT for colleagues at my school, as well as consulting with other schools and organisations to lead professional development. I have been accredited as an authorised Google for Education Certified Trainer and Innovator.

Other Interests:  I enjoy music, the outdoors, cooking, and keeping fit.
